Student Volunteering

Are you a high school or college student living in the Seattle Eastside? Need community service hours? Volunteer!

What can student volunteers do?
Volunteering with StudentRND is an enriching leadership experience. Depending on the division they are in, volunteers can help plan StudentRND events, recruit other volunteers to help out, contribute their own unique expertise to what we teach and put in our workspace, find guest speakers, manage our website, and promote StudentRND. We have something for everyone- artists, musicians, robotics members, science and math enthusiasts, and video gamers alike!

A significant amount of StudentRND volunteering is based on what department you work with.

The StudentRND Departments:

Marketing

Workspace

Human Resources

Finance

Business Relations

Contact us and let us know if you’re interested in working with a specific department. The leadership page will let you know more about what each department does.

Volunteering over the summer:

Over the summer, volunteers come in to the StudentRND workspace. Summer volunteering with StudentRND is enriching and fun. Over the summer, we had several LAN parties, an ice cream social, movie nights, and more!

Volunteering over the school year:

However, you can volunteer actively throughout the year as well!  Currently, the VP’s of Workspace, Marketing, Finance, and Business Relations have weekly department meetings, where they plan priorities and tasks for each of their departments. Check out the leadership page to find out who to talk to, and let them know you’re interested.

During the school year, StudentRND also has monthly general volunteer meetings. The meetings are highly informative and very useful if you’re looking to be a volunteer. Take a look at our Student Research and Development Facebook page for dates and times.

Click on the Contact Us link around the site to send us an email. It’s easy–just provide a little  information about yourself, your schedule, and what you’re interested in doing at StudentRND, and we can let you know about volunteering opportunities.

We’d love to hear from you!

Adult Volunteering

In our Workshop program, we invite professionals from the community to participate as mentors and speakers. If you would like to mentor for Student Research and Development or come as a guest speaker, simply click on the Contact Us link around the site to send us an email. We sincerely thank you for your involvement.

Funding is one of the greatest ways parents and adults can get involved with Student RND. With financial support, Student RND is able to continue providing materials for its local high school students and provide an area for projects. Visit the Donation page to learn more about how you can help fund Student RND’s next project.
